We wish to introduce our Sangam as MYLAPORE MAHA RUDRA SANGAM TRUST. We are a non profit religious Sangam Trust, registered in R.A.Puram, Chennai – 600028.

Our organization is run purely by Trustees and office bearers who are highly qualified and retired from various government departments, banking organizations and highly reputed private entities. The Trustees and office bearers are running our Trust in an

Honorary position.

The main activities of the Sangam Trust are performing and participating in Maha Rudram (chanting of Sri Rudram Vedam) in various parts of the city, conducting Annadanam for the poor and needy on various important occasions like Pournami, various temple functions in and around Mylapore area, performing abishegam and chanting of vedham on various centuries old neglected Sivan temples in and around Chennai city, only on the sole aim of Lokashemam (welfare of the humanity in general) and preserving and uplifting Sanatana Dharma as ordained by His Holiness Sri Adi Sankaracharya and reverently followed by Sri Sri Sringeri Mutt and Sri Sri Kanchi Mutt.

We have so far performed Ekadasa Rudram / abishegams in more than 15 ancient Sivalaya Temples in and around Chennai city. Of these, many are more than 1,200 years old, where there are no patronage and very rarely devotees visit. Subsequent to our conducting the programs there, the local villagers have now started giving lot of patronage to their local temples.

Our religious activities include the following :

Madham Oru Aalayam

A novel concept named as “Madham Oru Aalayam”, wherein we perform Ekadasa Rudra japam and Abhishegam to Lord Siva in very remote and rural villages, as mentioned earlier. We also do “Anna Dhanam”, after performing abishegam to the local villagers. This is totally performed by us from our own members’ voluntary contribution for a noble cause.

Pournami Annadhanam

We do Annadhanam for more than 300 devotees on every Pournami evening at around 8.00pm in the East Mada Street, Mylapore, opposite to Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. This program is very very popular among the general public and is well received by everyone in the area. The cost of this Annadhanam is also entirely borne by our members. Many street vendors, beggars, auto rickshaw drivers, passers by and general devotees are having this Annadhanam.

As part of the yearly Maha Rudram, we are planning to perform the same on Sunday, August 16th, 2026, in Smt. Narayani Ammala Kalyana Mandapam, Near to Sringeri Mutt, Mandaveli.

We cordially invite your esteemed presence to attend and participate in this maha yagnam. We attach herewith our Maha Rudram Yagnam invitation and solicit your liberal donation.
